Forrest Marine & RV Center
Where Happy Campers Meet
Ask Bruce Flanders to describe a cure for the fast-paced lifestyle and he'll give you one word: Camping. Flanders, the owner of Forrest Marine & RV Center, has spent his life camping and helping others to experience the beauty of the camping lifestyle. "We're avid campers," explains Flanders, "Some of my best childhood memories were when we were camping and riding our bikes and making new friends at the site."
Flanders says he and wife, Sue, are "simple people," and wistfully remarks that he's been around camping, RVs and trailers as long as he can remember. "It's in my blood," he says.
Flanders was introduced to the RV life in Hampton Falls, where his father and grandfather owned and operated Seabreeze Trailers, a custom-built trailer manufacturing company. It was this warm family feeling Flanders recognized instantly when, in 1988, he began working for Forrest Marine & RV Center as a service manager, repairing boats and RVs for then-owners, Robert and Richard Boulanger.
The Boulanger brothers must have felt it too. When they retired in 2005, they offered the place to Flanders. "I was given the chance at my dream," he says.
Today, everything about Forrest Marine & RV Center says "family". The company remains family owned and operated, and has served New England families since 1959. The brand they choose to carry, Jayco, is the country's largest privately owned RV manufacturer, and family owned. "We carry Jayco exclusively - no other brand," explains Flanders, "They have the best warranties and customer service in the business."
Flanders' continued success can be attributed, in part, to a deep understanding of his customers' needs and wants. "This is not like buying an automobile - it's family, it's a lifestyle. It's not high pressure," he explains. "I dread the thought of needing to purchase a vehicle - you're forever haggling and you never know if you really got a good deal."
Forrest Marine & RV Center offers something for everyone, from novice campers to die-hard RV enthusiasts, including entry-level fold downs, mid-range and high-end trailers to 'full-timers' (fifth wheels and motor homes). There is no discrimination because of experience or budget. Forrest Marine & RV Center wants the customer to be fully satisfied, and they strive hard to ensure every camping experience becomes a happy lifetime memory. "Campers are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. It doesn't matter if it's someone with a pop-up tent trailer or a $50,000 RV. Campers are all the same - good people."
Flanders and his family - wife Sue; sons Derek and Tim; and sister-in-law Lisa Shaughnessy - work together to fulfill each customer's camping dreams. Even previous owner Richard Boulanger, still going strong at 82 years of age, continues to work at Forrest Marine & RV Center.Meet Our Staff
